UPDATE: 2010 PLC Retreat in New Mexico
The 4th annual Pacific Life Community retreat was held in New Mexico February 26-28, 2010. The group gathered in the Jemez Mountains with our keynote speakers Bill Sulzman (of Citizens for Peace in Space, from Colorado Springs) and Sr. Joan Brown, ofm (of the Partnership for Earth Spirituality, from Albuquerque). On Sunday we drove to Los Alamos. Updated articles and pictures are elsewhere on the internet.
The weekend ended smoothly in a direct action at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), where LANL plans to build a new plant for plutonium bomb cores. Our prayerful action sent a clear message to LANL, regarding the CMR building, that DISARMAMENT BEGINS AT HOME. Thank you to the 60 people who helped with the prayer-action at Los Alamos in New Mexico – it started here, we can stop it here, and to do so, we must work harder. After the main rally and silent prayer in a LANL parking lot, 17 people walked to the CMR building where they prayed for peace and an END to the work of the CMR and an end to the construction of the CMRR. According to the Los Alamos Monitor and a southern NM TV station, things are getting worse…
Have you seen the social and moral breakdown of the bomb?
THANX to all who were able to cover our costs at Jemez, and to help cover the costs of other folks who were not able to afford their own costs!

Folks, It looks like there is a high likelihood we are going to get snow for the weekend at PLC. Bring non-porous shoes (boots are good if you don’t like your socks to get wet) and wool socks if you have them, and a head covering that is waterproof.
